Emails to Ian Worsfold :)

Hi Alex,

More than happy to consider changes to the logo, obviously the whole band would need to be in agreement with the changes though.

Cheers
Wurz

Thanks Ian.
They both sound great :) We'll work for now as though we're doing Come Up and See Me for now, so that we can start doing research and things, so if it does change, or when you know for sure, can you let me know.

Also, is it okay if we think about changing, or adapting the logo a bit, to update the image. or would you rather it stayed the same?

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Ian, it's Alex from Sawtry Community College in Mr Sheppard's media.

We were wondering if you had made a decision on what song you had chosen for the music video or if you were still deciding.

Also, you mentioned that you already had a logo, so we were wondering if you could send a copy of this so we could see it.

Thanks,
Alex (producer)

Hi,

I will ask them all and get back to you with availability as soon as possible.

Cheers

Hi Alex,

We will defintiely be performing "Come Up And See" Me for the video.

With regard to the content of the video, I am completely out of depth on this subject and so I will speak to Ocky, who is the singer in the band, and ask his opinion. I will get back to you asap.

Cheers
Wurz

hi wurz.

We were just wondering if you knew what song you were definately doing.

Also, was there anything that you definately did or did not want in the video? And, were you more keen on narrative and performance or just performance?

Thanks,
Alex

Research of Target Audience

When I did my research, I looked at the kind of people that went to pubs and those who got married, because as wedding singers, they will mainly target the bride and groom, because they are the people that will pay for and book the band, rather than the other guests.

Pubs: People who go to pubs are traditionally middle aged men, meeting up with the 'lads' for a drink away from the women. Pubs are traditionally seen as a respite for men who can get away from their nagging wives for a few drinks. Also, as beer is much more expensive, sometimes double or more than in the supermarket, those visiting pubs are generally middle class or ritired on a good pension.

However, it has also been noticed that in working class pubs, lower class, older men and the main vistors. But still the target audience is prodominantly men.

On the other hand, as traditions and values are changing, women are much more regularly visiting pubs either with their men or out with the girls. However, they are usually of a similar demographic to the men in the pubs they visit (middle aged and middle class).

Therefore, I found the main people going to pubs are men and women from well off backgrounds to afford the higher prices of alcohol in pubs, and this is especially evident in pubs with band nights, which are seldom working class pubs.

Weddings: The average UK wedding now costs £15,000 plus. People who marry are having to save a lot more nowadays before they can hold the wedding, meaning that the bride and groom are getting older. Also, as people put careers before marrige and children, weddings are coming later on in life still.

The average age of of a UK bride is now 30 and rising, and the average age of a UK groom is now at 32. Similarly, the average age of the band or DJ playing at weddings is also 30.

Wedding guests range from all ages; from very young children, to grandparents and even great-grandparents. Therefore, wedding singers need to be able to play songs that will entertain the whole spectrum of ages, although particularly the bride and groom.

Therefore, I found that the average bride and groom ages are rising to now middle aged couples who are increasingly career focused and are generally on fairly good incomes to be able to afford to save for 'the big day'.

Over all I have found that the target audience of Group Therapy will probably be slightly more towards males, but overall both sexes from the middle aged demographic, with generally good backgrounds. However, they also need to be able to appeal to younger and older audiences to entertain everyone at a wedding, and maybe get these younger people to book them at their own wedding in a few years time.

November 19th

Today we first got together as a group and chose roles within the group.

They were:
Producer: Alex
Director: Fran
Designer: Megan
Technical Person: Heidi

We chose these roles to play to each members strangths and weaknesses that we established from the "Cut To The Beat" task, for example, the editing in Heidi's group was really good, and she was the editor, so it made sense that she would be editor again in the main task.

We then did a small bit of group research on Group Therapy. We found their MySpace page, but this didn't really tell us a lot about the band, but did tell us who was in it and what role they had. However, we think this has now been deleted as we can't find it anymore.

We then decided on each doing a little bit of research about the band that we could put together and come up with a bigger image.

Alex: Research target audience
Fran: Research the venues they play in
Megan: Research the band's image
Heidi: Research other bands like them

This research would be completed by the next time that we would meet.
